RAGT stands for Rouergue, Auvergne, Gévaudan and Tarnais. These are the four regions of origin of the company, which was founded in 1919 in Aveyron, in the south of France.
Who created RAGT?
RAGT was founded by a group of farmers in 1919.
Maurice Anglade was the founder and Charles de Rodat the first Chairman.
What is RAGT?
RAGT is an agro-industrial group structured around several areas of activity:
- Seeds: variety creation, research, seed production and international marketing for field crops (wheat, maize, barley, sunflower, alfalfa, etc.).
- Agricultural distribution: supporting farmers in its home territory by collecting produce, supplying inputs (seeds, fertilisers, protection products) and providing personalised agronomic advice.
- Retailers: distribution of garden, pet and local produce through the RAGT Jardin et Maison network: vegetable and flower seeds, potting soils, fertilisers, garden care products, animal feed, etc.
- Energy and environment: development of biomass-based solutions to support the ecological transition.
